“Are you okay?” Mrs. Sanders asked.
“Yes ma’am.” Sheila finally responded. “Thanks for coming over.”
“No problem,” Mrs. Sanders said. “Just file it on your insurance, baby and watch out for your enemies.” She said as she slowly walked off in the direction of her home.
Sheila put the phone back up to her ear. Scarlett was still there waiting to hear what had happened. “Somebody fucked up my car and they fucked it up really bad.” She sadly said, already having a clue of who could’ve been behind it.
“Damn,” Scarlett said, but immediately thought that karma was indeed a bitch.
“I’ll call you back, Scarlett. Le’me call my daddy right quick.” She said as she and Scarlett ended their call.

Later that evening, Scarlett walked inside of California Dreaming with Sheila right behind her. She’d decided to get out for the night with Sheila since she wasn’t speaking to Luke again. Plus, she needed a few drinks to help her get in the mindset of knowing that Gwen would be returning home the next morning.
A hostess immediately greeted them to find out how many was in their party.
“Three, right?” Sheila quickly asked Scarlett.
“Uh, yeah,” Scarlett responded. “Just to be on the safe side, because Nina said that more than likely she’d show up.”
“Three,” Sheila told the hostess as she led them to their booth table right by the bar. “I think I like this seating already.”
“Me, too,” Scarlett said with a smile on her face.
“Your waitress will be here momentarily,” the hostess said while handing them their menus then walking off.
Sheila scanned through the menu then looked over at Scarlett. “I’m glad that you came out with me tonight. I needed this break after what happened earlier today.”
“How are things with that situation and your car being vandalized?”
“My dad is going to handle it, of course, and I’m sure that he’s filing it on our insurance. It’s just the principal that someone would stoop that low as to fuck up my new ride like that.”
Scarlett looked at her sideways. “I think that’s bad when people do shit to your car out of spite. If I knew who put that sugar in my tank I’d have to whoop a bitch ass.”
Sheila’s face turned red. She felt bad as hell at that moment, because she’d forgotten all about paying Gwen to sabotage her best friend’s car out of jealousy of seeing her doing better for herself.
“Well, uh,” Sheila said, but was cut off as the waitress came over to get their orders.
“Hi, my name is Monique. What will y’all be having to drink this evening?”
Sheila felt as if she was saved by the bell as she quickly ordered her drink. “Please, can I have two peach Ciroc’s on the rocks?”
“Damn, no chaser, Sheila?” Scarlett asked, knowing that Sheila was fucked up from what she’d said. She could tell by the look on her face.
“No chaser, bestie. I need all the liquor I can get in this system tonight. I have a lot of things on my mind.”
“I’m sure you do,” Scarlett uttered then looked up at the small framed waitress that had a large set of boobs that was sitting up high and seemed to be staring her right in the face. “Uh, le’me get some Grey Goose with a splash of cranberry juice; oh and a glass of ice water.”
“Make that two glasses of ice water,” Sheila added.
“Okay,” the waitress responded. “Are y’all ready to order?”
Sheila looked over at Scarlett, because she wasn’t ready. Scarlett wasn’t ready yet, either. “Give us a moment,” Scarlett stated.
“Will do and I’ll be back with your drinks,” she said then walked off.
Sheila wanted nothing more than to change the subject back to the matter at hand. “Bestie, my neighbor said that she saw a dude running out of my yard. So, I’m guessing that he’s the one who did that shit to my car.”
Scarlett frowned a little. “Well, you already know who’s behind that shit.”
“I do believe that it’s April with her skank ass. I called Jay and Jay called her, but she’s acting all innocent. That bitch had something to do with it. I just know it.”
“I believe you’re on one.” Scarlett said, just figuring that it wasn’t the time to ask anything about what had happened to her car. She figured that karma had done her job for her and she’d just as well let it go.
“I wanna fight that bitch, because I think she thinks I’m scared of her.” Sheila said.
“I’ve never known you to fight anyone, Sheila.” Scarlett laughed as the bartender passed them their drinks and informed them that their waitress would be over shortly to take their order.
“That’s because I’ve never had to fight.” Sheila said, turning up one of her drinks like the pro drinker she was. “But, I will if pushed and this bitch is definitely pushing me to the max.”
“Yeah, she is certainly doing that. I don’t like the bitch myself and I know that she hates me, too.”
“But, she doesn’t fuck with you like she fucks with me.” Sheila said.
“That’s because she knows better.” Scarlett said, sipping from her drink. “I would break that bitch’s neck with one snap. The only thing that has seriously saved her from getting a good ass cutting is the fact that she’s pregnant.”
“Uurrrgh, don’t mention it,” Sheila said. “I wanted to take a warrant out on her for fucking up my car, but I didn’t have any proof that it was her. She ain’t fooling me, though. I know that she’s behind that shit.”
“I can, without a doubt, believe that, too.” Scarlett said.
Sheila lightly wiped her mouth then stood up to go to the restroom. “I gotta pee,” she told Scarlett. “I’ll be back.”
“Okay, did you want me to order you something just in case the waitress comes back?”
“Just get me some hot wings,” Sheila said. “I don’t really want much to eat. I just really wanna get my drink on.”
“Hell, I feel you. I think I’m gonna order the same thing. Hopefully, Nina will have made it here by the time you get back.” Scarlett said.
“Yeah, because we need to get fucked up tonight and have fun.” They laughed then Sheila walked off as she headed for the restrooms as Scarlett sat there sipping from her drink.

Nina stepped out of her black 2006 Cherokee Grand Laredo Jeep. “I can’t believe that I’m about to have dinner with Sheila. Scarlett better be glad that I love her,” she spoke under her breath. The main reason for her stepping out was because she needed more to drink since she’d drank all of her Smirnoff at home and needed more to drown her sorrows. Plus, this night was on Sheila’s dime and she wasn’t missing out on any freebies.
As she walked closer to the door of the restaurant she thought that she’d spotted Stephen’s truck parked in the parking lot. She looked closely, because it could’ve easily been someone else with a truck that resembled his. The door of the truck opened and to her surprise it was her baby’s daddy. She patiently waited for a moment, not wanting to make any desperate moves. Once she noticed that no one was getting out on the passenger side she immediately walked over to him.
Stephen’s eyes widened as he saw her coming in his direction. “Nina, what are you doing here?”
Nina was taken aback as she stood there feeling disgusted with his nonchalant attitude like he could care less about her. “Why haven’t you bothered responding to my messages? Better yet, why haven’t you bothered calling me back?”
Stephen sighed, feeling like he really didn’t have time for this. “You’re not the person that I thought you were.”
Nina frowned. “I’m not the person you thought I was? Stephen, are you serious right now?”
“Yes, I am serious right now.” He said. “I introduced you to my girlfriend and you jumped on her. Who does that?”
“I did that,” Nina snapped. “You don’t even know that bitch and you
re taking her side.”
“See, that’s why we can’t have this discussion right now.” Stephen said as he turned to head back to his truck.
“Don’t’ fucking walk off from me,” Nina yelled out as she went behind him. “Do you even know who you’re fucking?”
“Yes, I know who I’m fucking.”
“I don’t believe that you do,” she stated.
Stephen stopped walking to face Nina. “She told me that y’all were once friends and that y’all fell out over some dude.”
“That’s what she said?” Nina asked with a confused expression on her face.
“By the time she’d realized who you were it was too late and she didn’t want to cause tension between us, so she didn’t tell me right away.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Nina asked, almost wanting to laugh, because it sounded so absurd.
“No, I’m not kidding you and I know that the dude you were tripping over was Rick. I can’t believe after all this time of us being together that you would fight her about your other kid’s father. Do you have any idea how that made me feel? I thought you claimed that you were over him?”
Nina was caught off guard for moment as she thought back to when they were younger. She’d heard about Faye and Rick fucking around, but Faye always denied it and so did Rick.
Damn, them some dirty bitches! She quickly thought.
“I am over Rick and that’s not why I beat her ass.” She tried to explain.
Stephen peeked around her to watch the restaurant doors as if he was looking for somebody, and then he looked back at Nina. “I don’t even wanna hear anymore of this. You’re not over Rick and I’m not dealing with this shit, anymore. I’m finally getting over you which means that you can happily be with Rick; a man that does absolutely nothing for you.”
Nina was starting to feel some type of way as Stephen’s cold shoulder ate at her insides. She looked back at the doors of the restaurant, following Stephen’s eyes as he opened his truck door. “So, you’re not going to hear me out?”
“Nope,” he said. “I’ve heard and seen all I’ve needed too in one day. I just hope that you can be a lady about your business and quit using your fists as a means of settling your issues.” He said, pulling out his cell phone to warn Faye that Nina was in the parking lot with him and that he’d rather meet up with her someplace else.
“I can’t believe that you’re acting like this.” She said as he tapped away on his cell phone. “I’m the mother of your kids. Have you forgotten that?”
“No, I haven’t, but it’s plenty of times that you forgot it seemed.”
“I can’t believe we’re standing here having this conversation.” Nina irritably stated. “What the fuck is wrong with you? You’re going to listen to a bitch that hasn’t been in your life a good year over someone you’ve known for a number of years?” She looked back at the door again. She knew that she’d been drinking and was tipsy, but she wasn’t crazy and the way Stephen kept looking back at the restaurant told her everything that she needed to know. “You’re meeting that bitch here aren’t you?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Stephen nonchalantly stated.
Nina looked around the parking lot then back at Stephen. “She’s probably already here.”
Stephen proceeded to get in the truck. “I’m leaving, because you’re delusional. I think you need to be going home, too. I don’t know who you’re here meeting up with, but you definitely don’t need to be having anymore drinks while you’re driving.” He said, already knowing that she’d had one too many drinks already.
“You wanna play dumb, Stephen? Am I right about you meeting her here? Don’t worry about it. I’ll just walk in here and find out for myself.” She snapped. “Then I’m gonna drag that bitch out here and make her tell you the truth behind me beating her ass while I’m standing here.” Nina attempted to walk off, but before she could Stephen had grabbed her by the arm.

Sheila had just finished fastening her stretch fitted, Paige Denim “Skyline” jeans and before she could walk out of the stall; the bathroom door opened and she could hear two women chatting away. One voice sounded so familiar which made her stop in her tracks and listen.
“Damn, girl, I gotta use it so bad,” Faye said as she ran inside an empty stall.
April stood in the middle of the bathroom floor running her fingers down her long straight Remy sew-in. “Damn, I look good,” she said kissing at the mirror. “I don’t understand why Jay wants to be with Sheila’s ugly ass. That bitch looks pale as a ghost. He knows he can’t get away from all of this chocolate loving.”
“Or why Luke would want to be with that whorish ass Scarlett. That bitch is beyond a slut and he had proof of it and still wants to be with her.” Faye responded.
“You’re right,” April agreed with a grin. “Luke is just pitifully in love,” she hissed with the turn of her lip while thinking about their earlier run in. “It would be nice if this baby is his due to the fact that I really want to fuck with his lil whorish bitch. Then again, I love Jay. We have a long history together, plus his mom adores me unlike Luke’s mom.” She said, still gazing at herself in the mirror.
I wonder what she means by her and Jay having a long history together, Sheila thought while peeking through the small slit in the bathroom door at her archenemy.
“Well, hell if you ask me, you can’t go wrong. Both of their families are paid.” Faye laughed as she walked out of the stall and began washing her hands.
“Yeah, but Jay has my heart. He’s the one that I really want to be with. I was with that man for five years and in those five years I put up with a lot and when I left him I thought it was over for good. Especially, after meeting Luke.” She smiled, because Luke mended her broken heart. The only thing was that she was so broken until she didn’t know how to fully appreciate a good man. Luke wanted nothing but the best for her, but she ended up pushing him away.
“Look at you,” Faye said with a smile. “You’re talking about Jay has your heart, but it seems that Luke do, too.”
April blissfully smirked. “Yeah, maybe,” she said. “Jay just has more of it, because when we met up again, here in Augusta, it seemed as if us getting back together was meant to be. He wanted me back and he pursued me until he got me back.”
“Yeah, then you found out about that bitch, but don’t feel bad. I have to deal with one now, too.”
“You should’ve seen that one coming, though.” April said well aware of the drama that Faye had been stirring up while trying to get her paws in Stephen. “Girl, I don’t know what kinda mess you got going on. It just baffled me to learn that this Nina chick was once with Stephen. Why’d you hold out on that information?”
“I wanted to see how things would turn out first.”
“Well, I guess you see now.” April commented, shaking her head with a grin as she headed out of the bathroom with Faye following close behind her like a shadow.
Sheila stepped out of the stall. Hearing the news about Jay’s relationship with April kind of scared her, because if that baby was his, April was going to be relentless in getting him back. Even though Jay claimed that he didn’t care for her, he obviously did at one point and it could easily go back that way.
She washed her hands, feeling very upset with Jay. She couldn’t believe what was going on around her and she didn’t have a clue about any of it.
“Five years, huh?” She said, rolling her eyes. “That bitch better be glad that she didn’t mention my car,” she said as she exited the bathroom feeling even more heated and wanting nothing more than to confront April at that moment.
Upon opening the bathroom door, she bumped right into April and Faye who was standing there talking to a woman that they knew. Apparently, the woman was headed in the restroom as they were coming out.
April looked back as she and Sheila’s eyes met. “Oh my God,” she nonchalantly stated, figuring that Sheila had heard e
verything that they had spoke about in the restroom.
“Yeah, bitch, I heard you,” Sheila said. “But, fuck all that emotional shit. Did you have something to do with my car being vandalized?” She asked, stepping up to her, because she wanted April to know that she wasn’t playing with her and that she wasn’t the least bit afraid.
Chapter 6
“Bitch, I don’t have time to be fucking with none of your shit.” April responded. “But, if somebody fucked it up then I’m sure you deserved it.”
“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Sheila asked, just wishing she could punch April in the stomach.
“Meaning that you were fucking with my man, so no telling who else’s man you were fucking with,” April said with a snap of the neck.
