“Anyway,” She said as she continued her story. “First of all, when I walked through the doors of Chase’s control room, he gave me a sour look like he wasn’t happy to see me. So, because I knew that I’d showed up by surprise, I explained why I was there. I told him that I wanted us to spend some time together, but instead he was acting all busy and asked me to leave. But, the thing that got me is that the chick Rayne, his new artist, was standing inside the booth staring at me the whole time while me and Chase were talking. I mean, I could hardly focus on what he and I were discussing from staring back at her.

“Damn, she was looking at you that hard?” Toya questioned.

“Honey yes,” she said with a smack of her lips. “She was giving me a look like I was fucking her man or something.” Brooke overly exaggerated. “Anyway, this heifa had the nerve to come out of the booth and address Chase like I was interrupting them from working. I guess that had to be done to cut our conversation short. You know for me, that was her first strike. So, Chase already noticed the tension in the air and introduced us. But, get this,” she said with frown on her face. “He introduced me as just his baby mama.”

“Hm, how did you take that?” Toya pondered as she looked over at her sister.

“I straighted his ass and told her that I was his girlfriend.”

Toya laughed. “I figured you did.” She knew that Brooke was a hot head and definitely unpredictable.

“Anyway, after all of the introducing was out the way, lil Ms. Rayne headed back inside the sound booth. Now I’m going to admit it. Ole girl can sing, but I wasn’t really feeling the song that she was singing. That shit made me wonder who she was referring to while she was singing it.”

Toya raised a befuddled eyebrow. “What’s the name of song, Sis?”

“If you were my man or some shit like that.” Brooke answered. “The lyrics of the song definitely made me feel some type of way. It sounded like she was singing the song to Chase.”

Toya's eyes widened as the gossip intrigued her thoughts. She leaned forward with her right arm propped up on her knee. There was nothing like a good girl talk between she and her sister. “If you thought that she was singing the song to Chase then she could’ve been. Hell, you never know. What were some of the lyrics?” She nosily prodded.

  “Girl, she sang something like…”

Your woman can never love you like I can… If only you were my man.

It’s something about your touch that makes me love you so much… If only you were my man.

“Girl, she was throwing all kinda shade my way in that song.” She said giving her sister the side eye. “At first this bitch had her eyes closed like she was zoned out, and then while she was singing she opened them and stared in Chase’s direction. So, I look at him and he’s bobbing his head up and down, zoned out in the music while also gazing back at her. It was as if I wasn’t even in the room with them.”

“Well damn, Sis. That had to be awkward.”

Brooke regrettably shook her head. “Tell me about it.” She said. “But, to top it all off, when she finished and the song was wrapped up, guess what happened? She brought her ass out of the sound booth all happy and shit and they stood there gazing at each other and chopping it up like they didn’t give a damn about me being there. It felt like I was just a bystander looking in on their lil happy relationship.”

“It kinda shocks me that Chase would act that way.” Toya responded, but inside she was surprised that he’d stayed with her sister that long after all the crazy things she’d done to push him away.

“I know right, but that’s not the end of the story.” Brooke continued. “After clearly seeing that I wasn’t wanted there, I decided to leave since Chase was on some other shit. Well, on my way out the door, I hear this bitch asking him if he could give her a ride home.” Toya’s eyes stretched even wider. “And, did you know this negro had the nerve to say yes.”

  “What?!”

“Girl yes,” Brooke responded with a shake of the head. “First off, his ass was in my car so how dare he give another bitch a ride IN MY CAR.”

Toya cut in with a serious look on her face. “I know that’s right.”

“I walked back in that room so damn fast. It really pissed me off that Chase would try me like that. So, I told his ass that he wasn’t about to take her no where; especially not in my car or his car, either.”

Toya let out a laugh after picturing how it all had gone down in her head. “What did Chase do?”

“He wasn’t happy about it, but I wasn’t going to budge. I wasn’t going to let him take her home.” She spat.

“So, what happened?” Toya questioned in an anxious, high pitched tone.

“Well, Chase overlooked what I said and asked Jeremy for his car keys.”

  Toya frowned. “Say what now?”

“You heard me. Chase asked Jeremy for his car keys to take that bitch home. Girl, I was about to grab that bitch by her hair and drag her ass all over that damn control room before she got her ass in a car with my man.”

Toya shook her head while laughing. “So what happened? Who took her home?”

  “Chase,” Brooke dryly admitted.

  “Wait, hold up… I thought you said…”

“I know what I said,” Brooke cut in. “But, Chase took Jeremy’s keys and walked out of there with Rayne following him. He wasn’t listening to shit I had said to him.”

“So, you mean to tell me that Chase took another female home while you were standing right there watching him?” Toya pondered with an unsure frown on her face. “Yeah, he must really like her.”

“See what I mean,” Brooke chimed in. Out of nowhere, her eyes started to wail up with tears again. “I’m telling you Toya, something got to be going on between them. Chase has never treated me like that before. I don’t care how reckless I’ve gotten.”

“So you really think that he’s sleeping with her, though?”

Brooke nodded her head while wiping the tears from her face. “Jeremy said that they haven’t slept together, but I don’t believe him. It’s not like he’s going to actually tell me if they did, anyway.”

“Right,” Toya agreed with a shrug of her shoulders. “So what are you going to do?”

Brooke took in a deep breath, and then let it out. “Nothing, right now.”

Toya gave her sister the side eye. She knew her all too well. Brooke always had something plotting in that evil head of hers. “Come on Brooke, I know you’re not just going to let this shit ride.”

“I’m not. I’m waiting to see if he’s actually going to bring his ass home tonight.” Brooke responded leaving out the part that she’d told Chase not to come back home since he was taking Rayne home. She was hoping that he would come home out of respect for their relationship since she’d threatened him many times before and he’d still show up. However, seeing the way he had acted out in front of Rayne told her that he might just make good on her threat this time.

“So, what if he doesn’t come home?” A nosey Toya pondered.

“Then I’m going to change all the locks on the doors and start making plans for me and Mason to move back to California.”

“Lawd Brooke,” Toya exclaimed while leaning back on the couch. “Why would you move back there? Mom and dad are both here; plus me.”

“Yeah, but everybody else is still in California. Chris and Sasha are still there.” Brooke responded referring to their other siblings.

“You know you don’t get along with either one of them.”

“True,” she agreed knowing that she and her other siblings weren’t nearly as tight as she was with Toya. “But, if Chase doesn’t get his act together that’s where I’m heading to.”

Toya started shaking her head. “The only reason why you want to head back to California is to keep Chase from Mason. I think that’s a lil fucked up, because you know how much he loves him.”

“No,” Brooke said raising her finger and wiggling it in her sister’s face. “Wha
t’s not right is Chase going around cheating on me. If he cares about his son like that, then his ass would be home with me instead of somewhere with that bitch doing God knows what.” She spat angrily.

“You don’t know if he’s cheating on you with that girl.” Toya cut in now wanting to take up for Chase. “And, if he is that don’t make it right to keep his son from him. Quit putting Mason in the middle of what y’all have going on and quit tripping about the seventy-five grand that you fronted him to start that company up with Jeremy. Lord knows if Chase really knew where you got that money from he’d be pissed and would probably look at you differently.”

Brooke cringed inside at the mention of anything having to do with her past. She leaned forward and lowered her voice into a whisper. “Have you been talking to Jeremy?” she questioned.

“What?” Toya responded with a perplexed expression on her face. “Why would I talk to Jeremy? I have only met him one time and that was at your house.”

“As I recalled, you guys were pretty cozy and kept flirting with each other that day. You even got his number.”

Toya smirked, but quickly responded. “I got his number, but I haven't used it. I can tell that Jeremy is a player and I’m not about to let him play me. Plus, that was a few months ago. I’m now in a cool relationship with a guy that I really like. So why would you ask me that?”

“Because, when I was at the studio today, Jeremy made it seem like he knew something about me. I didn’t pay any mind to it at first until you mentioned my past.”

Toya crossed her arms. “And, you think I’d spread your business in the streets? You do know that even if I was talking to Jeremy that I wouldn’t do you like that, right?”

Brooke slightly shrugged her shoulders. “I would hope not, but I just find it weird that he thinks he knows something about me.” She said as she thought about their earlier encounter. It was imperative that her past stayed where it belonged or it could ruin things between she and Chase for good.

Brooke had a dark past that started at the age of fifteen. She’d given up her virginity to a much older guy that literally turned her out. She instantly became a sex addict, having sex all the time with anyone that had a dick and knew how to use it. It was during her college years that one of her roommates introduced her to a menage `a trois sex party. That sponteneously became her new addiction. While attending these sex parties at random locations, she met up with Q, a king pen with lots of money and women. She loved his swag and the way he treated her. More importantly, she was obsessed with the way that he fucked her brains out. Nobody had ever touched her like Q, at least before she met up with Chase. Q put her down on a lot of things, turning her out to a world of seduction and power. He treated her like his main bitch until another, much younger chick came in and took over. Q called it quits and moved on just as quickly, leaving Brooke bitter and heartbroken. Word around the city was that she was so mad with the way that he had played her that she robbed Q of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars and skipped town. However, the truth was that she’d taken one hundred thousand and moved to Georgia with her parent’s while vowing that she’d never let another woman step in and take her man, not a man that she’d put as much time and love in as she did with Q.

“I hope that Jeremy was only fucking with me. I know that I’ve done some pretty undecent things in my twenty-eight years of living, but I’ve tried so hard over the years to change and be a one man’s woman to Chase. I’ve given him my all and I just don’t want to lose it all, because of something from my past or this Rayne chick.”

“I’m sure that Jeremy knows nothing. He was just saying something to get under your skin,” Toya stated.

Brooke nodded her head. “Maybe, because the only person that knows about my history here in Atlanta, is you and our parents. I haven’t even told Chase that shit. I’m much too embarrassed to.”

“Right, because some things you just gotta take to the grave with you.” Toya said like she had a few hidden secrets herself. “You’ve been nothing but faithful to Chase since y’all have been together, right?”

“Yeah,” Brooke answered with a straight face.

“Okaaaay,” Toya dragged. For some reason, she’d gotten the odd feeling that her sister was not completely honest with her. From the expression on her face and the way she was darting her eyes around nervously said otherwise, but she’d let it be. “Well, like I said, Jeremy probably was just saying something to rattle your nerves.”

“Yeah, you’re right. That’s one of the reasons why I can’t stand his ass. He’s always on that bullshit.”

Toya laughed as her phone vibrated on her lap. She glanced down at it, and then she shot Brooke a look. “Sis, I got to go. I'm supposed to be getting ready for my date with my boo. He’s taking me to see Taken 3 tonight.” She stood up.

“A’ight Sis,” Brooke said standing up beside her. She reached over and gave her a hug. “Have fun.”

“I will and remember what I said about not involving Mason in your fallouts with Chase.” Toya responded as she and Brooke embraced each other for a few seconds before she headed upstairs to get ready.

Brooke didn’t respond to what her sister had said. Instead, she sat back down on the couch as her mind drifted back to what Jeremy had said earlier. She believed her sister when she said that she hadn’t told Jeremy anything, but still wondered what Jeremy could have heard about her and where did he hear it from.

What does his ass know? If he don’t know anything about my past life in Los Angeles then what else could he be talking about? She thought to herself. She picked up her phone to call Chase then dropped it once she realized something. Oh hell naw. I know his ass don’t know about that shit.

Rayne stepped out of the tub and grabbed the nearest towel. She dried her body off, and then sat on the closed toilet seat. Reaching over by the sink, she grabbed the bottle of Victoria Secret lotion and put some in her hand before sitting it back down. Aaah, that feels good. She thought while rubbing the lotion all over her body. The hot bath that she’d just taken was soothing and long over due after the encounter she’d had with Brooke. The drama that Brooke had started earlier at the studio was still fresh on her mind. And, despite what she’d told Chase, his baby mama did succeed in ruining her day just a little. She wasn’t as excited about her single being finished as she was that morning when she woke up. That bitch better be lucky Jeremy stepped in when he did. If she would’ve even thought about laying a hand on me, I would’ve knocked that bitch into next week. She thought while laughing at herself.

She stood up and put on a black pair of boy shorts and a short, black t-shirt. She then made her way out the bathroom and down the hall towards the smell of food coming from the kitchen. “You still here?” She called out as she walked into the living room where Chase was laid out on her red, leather sectional. He had removed his shirt and had on nothing, but his white wife beater and his Diamond Supply jeans. His eyes were slightly closed and she couldn’t tell whether he was sleeping or not.

Chase’s eyes fluttered opened as he peeked over at her. His dick jumped instantly at the sight of her standing there in a pair of boy shorts and a low cut t-shirt that showed her smooth, chestnut stomach. “Took you long enough.” He teased while trying to calm the brain in his other head. “I was about to come in there to get you.” He chuckled, but was dead serious.

She playfully rolled her eyes at him. “Sorry about that. I decided to take a bath instead of a shower. I’m surprised you’re still here, though. I thought you had to meet Jeremy and James.” She said walking over to the sectional. She noticed that he’d ordered some pizza so she reached over and picked up a slice as she sat down.

“Naw, we decided to postpone it until tomorrow. I hope you didn’t mind, but I figured you was probably hungry. That’s why I ordered the pizza.” Chase said while sitting up on the couch watching Rayne as she ate the slice of pizza, nibble by nibble, bite by bite. Damn, He thought. She even make eating
look fucking sexy.

“No, I didn’t mind at all. You know that pizza is my favorite.” She responded as she finished eating the slice of pizza like she really was hungry and hadn’t eaten all day.

“Slow down girl, it’s not going anywhere.” Chase teased with a light chuckle. She flicked him off, causing him to laugh harder. “I wouldn’t mind doing that.” He quickly shot her way.

“Whatever Chase,” she blushed while wiping her hand on a napkin that was on the table. “So, besides buying pizza, why is your ass still here? Shouldn’t you be home trying to make up with your girlfriend?”

Chase let out exasperted sigh. “Didn’t I tell you that I don’t want to talk about her?” He questioned as he slid closer to her on the sectional. “She’s the last person I’m worried about right now.” He said. Before Rayne could even protest, he had picked her up and sat her on his lap. He put his face in the crook of her neck and inhaled the sweet smell of vanilla on her body. “You smell good, baby.”

“Chase,” Rayne said trying to put up a fight. Just being that close to him had her undies soaking wet. It didn’t help either that she could feel just how hard he was through his jeans. Dayum, She thought. She knew that she should have put on a pair of pants once she saw that he was still there. “You can’t keep putting us in predicaments like this.”

“I’m not putting you in no predicaments. You don’t have to sit here if you feel uncomfotable.” He grinned while letting go of her waist. He stretched his arms behind his head and gave her a look. Despite her mind screaming that she should get up, Rayne contined to sit there. It was feeling too good at the moment being that up close and personal. After seeing her not moving, Chase wrapped his arms back around her. “Can we finish talking about us now?” He questioned.
